Lord, fight with me and never neglect me;
let me feel it when your hand crushes mine,
that you are treating me like a brother,
Father, since I am able to struggle

with you; this battle is proof
of the divine origin of humanity.
Struggling like this, I find support for
my faith in the mystery of your power.

Since the battle continues during the dark
night of this life and the hour of dawn
is approaching, Lord, tell me your name;

you have already taken away my armor
and now that my soul is vanquished it cannot
rest until it finally exits from this dark path.
