Before the sky will lack stars,
Dangers to the sea, birds to the wind,
to the sun its radiance and movement,
and bright sparks in the blazing fire;

before to the field beautiful productions,
to the mount horror, to plain recreation,
clumsy envies of merit,
and to the not admitted love sad quarrels;

before its flowers to spring,
the inclement burning in the summer,
in the autumn, flattering abundance,

and to the chilly winter ice and cold,
let him give a point of his first faith,
the less my love is missing.
